What is Aix ONU?

You like debates ? You’re interested in global affairs such as protecting the environment, human rights, disarmament and world hunger? You’ve already felt like you found a creative solution to a social issue and the idea of sharing you opinion with others sounds thrilling?
Then, Aix ONU is the society you need!
Come and put yourself in a diplomat’s shoes. Defend the interests of a nation and enter the arena of international negociations and conflict resolution!

Every week, a simulation Aix ONU, it’s the diplomatic society of Sciences Po Aix. Alone or with a friend, you can represent the country of your choice during our United Nations simulations (also known as Model United Nations), opened to everyone which will take place once a week in the IEP on various subjects from 18h to 20h.
A few examples of subjects in 2018:

  • Preventing species extinction
  • The proliferation of nuclear weapons
  • The Rohingya crisis
  • Ensuring food security in conflict zones


The Aix Model United Nations

It is one of the two highlights of Aix ONU’s year. Organised carefully each year by yours truly, it brings together a hundred students who came to debate in one of our two committees in the heart of Aix-en- Provence. Our members benefit for this event from lower prices but registration is open to everyone. It is also now possible for those who wish it to only participate in the social event which will be on sunday night in one of the top bars of your favorite city.


Model United Nations abroad

It is the prominent event of Aix ONU. Each year, a few of our members are selected by the board of the society to participate in MUN abroad. Whether it be the famous Harvard World MUN, bringing together thousands of students form all around the world or the EuroMUN of Maastricht, or even the numerous MUN organised in Europe and throughtout the world, Aix ONU is committed to help you live an experience you will remember for years!
